Boat Trader iPhone application puts 100,000 new and used boats at shoppers’ fingertips
NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 4, 2009 – Boat Trader, a division of Dominion Enterprises, has released an iPhone application that puts more than 100,000 new and used boats, yachts, sailboats and personal watercraft at shoppers’ fingertips. The free Boat Trader application can be downloaded from the lifestyle section of the iTunes Store by searching the key phrase “Boat Trader.” The new Boat Trader iPhone app is GPS-sensitive, allowing boat shoppers to quickly find nearby boats for sale. The search tool allows users to search for boats by type, new or used condition, price range, and model year in a specific zip code or by location. The application also saves the user’s recent searches and vehicles viewed to make finding boats even easier. “Our users are becoming more mobile. A recent Boat Trader survey showed that nearly one third of our customers use their mobile device for Web browsing ‘all the time,’ while 55 percent of respondents use their mobile phones for text messaging,” said Courtney Chalmers, brand manager of Boat Trader. “This data shows how our audience is shifting – and demanding more immediate information on the go.” The Boat Trader application lets users view multiple boat and dealer locations on enhanced Google maps and quickly access driving directions. Each boat listing provides a detailed description, including length and engine hours, along with multiple photos of the boat for sale. YouTube and manufacturer videos appear on select listings. When shoppers have found the perfect boat, yacht, sailboat or personal watercraft, they can save the boat listing to their wish list, call or e-mail the boat seller, map out directions to the watercraft, or send the boat to a friend. Features included in the new free application include: A demonstration video for the Boat Trader iPhone application is available on the Boat Trader Insider blog. About Boat Trader |
